Bella Rosa is the crown jewel of Garre Vineyard and honestly one of the best kept secrets in the Livermore Valley. This is Garre's newest wedding venue and it was clearly designed by someone who understands what couples actually want on their wedding day.
The ceremony space is an outdoor English garden bordered by Italian cypress trees and rose bushes, with a raised stage that backs right up to rows of Cabernet vines. When the afternoon sun starts dropping behind the Livermore hills and catches those vine rows, the whole scene turns cinematic. You do not need to stage anything here. The venue does the heavy lifting.
What surprised me the first time I shot here was the indoor reception space. You walk through the doors and it is 12 chandeliers hanging from high ceilings, polished wood floors, and warm light everywhere. It feels grand without being stuffy. There is a massive granite-topped bar on one side and floor-to-ceiling windows on the other. The light quality inside is actually good enough to shoot natural light portraits during cocktail hour, which is rare for indoor venues.
The outdoor patio connects the ceremony lawn to the reception hall, and during cocktail hour it becomes this perfect in-between space with vineyard views and string lights starting to glow. The whole flow of the evening feels intentional. Ceremony outside, cocktails on the patio, dinner inside. No awkward transitions, no loading into shuttles. Everything is right there.

Bella Rosa faces west toward the Livermore hills. Those hills are lower than Napa or Sonoma, so golden hour starts a bit earlier and stretches longer. In summer, the sweet spot is 6:15 to 7:15pm. In winter, 4:00 to 4:45pm. The vineyard rows behind the ceremony stage run east-west, so when the sun drops, light shoots straight down the rows like a spotlight. The patio catches beautiful warm side-light from about 5pm onward in summer.
Large dedicated parking lot on site with plenty of space. Garre is right off Tesla Road, about 45 minutes from San Francisco and 30 minutes from San Jose via I-580. Easy highway access and well-signed. No parking headaches.
Music must end by 10pm (Livermore noise ordinance). No confetti or rice (vineyard property). Sparklers in designated areas only. The bridal suite and groom's room are available 3 hours before the ceremony. Standard event time is 5.5 hours with option to purchase additional hours. All vendors must carry liability insurance.
The Cabernet rows behind the stage catch the sun about 90 minutes before sunset and the whole scene turns golden. Build your ceremony around that window. If you are getting married in July, a 6pm ceremony is perfect. In October, aim for 4:30pm.
Most couples default to the garden for the first look, but the patio has this beautiful edge where vineyard meets architecture. The string lights frame you overhead and the vines stretch behind. It is private, romantic, and photographs like a dream.

Livermore hits 95 to 100 degrees regularly in July and August. An outdoor ceremony before 5pm is going to cook your guests. Push to 5:30 or 6pm. The light is better, the temperature drops, and everyone is more comfortable.

Bella Rosa seats up to 330 guests for dinner and can hold 370 for ceremony and reception combined. It handles both intimate weddings and larger celebrations beautifully because the space flows from outdoor garden to patio to grand ballroom.
Golden hour in the vineyard rows is the money shot. The rows run east-west so the setting sun lights them up perfectly. In summer that window is around 6:30 to 7pm. In fall and spring, closer to 5pm. I build every timeline around this moment.
They are different experiences. Bella Rosa is newer, larger, and has the English garden ceremony space with vineyard backdrop. Martinelli is more intimate with a Tuscan courtyard feel. For most weddings over 100 guests, Bella Rosa is the better fit. Both photograph beautifully.
