How to prep

How we make this 20 minutes feel like nothing.

  1. 01

Eat something light an hour before.

You don't want to feel hangry mid-session. Keep it light so you're comfortable in your outfit too.

  2. 02

Hydrate the day before, not the morning of.

Hydrated skin photographs better. Caffeine the morning of is fine, but skip the third coffee.

  3. 03

Iron your outfit + steam the wrinkles.

Wrinkles show up in close-ups. A 5-min steam saves 30 min of editing on my end and makes you look effortless.

  4. 04

Soft makeup, slightly heavier than everyday.

Cameras eat about 20% of your makeup. Lashes + lip color help. Powder if you tend to shine. Skip the contour lines.

  5. 05

Bring a small mirror + lip balm.

Between frames I'll let you check yourself. Lip balm matters more than you think — chapped lips are the #1 thing brides regret.

  6. 06

    Arrive 10 minutes early.

Park, breathe, settle. Five minutes of warm-up makes your shots feel natural instead of stiff.

  7. 07

Trust the process. Then trust me.

You don't need to know how to pose. I'll guide you frame by frame. The best photos happen between the poses you're trying for.

Common Questions

Things people always ask.

Will I get sand everywhere?

Yes. Worth it. Bring a towel for the car.

Can we go in the water?

Toes only — wet hair + salt skin look incredible. No swimming.

What if it's windy?

Wind = movement = best frames. We lean into it.
