Washburn Point (5 min away)

Quieter overlook with similar Half Dome view. Great backup if Glacier Point is reserved or too crowded. Better golden-hour light angle.

Sentinel Dome (1.1-mile hike)

360° granite-summit ceremony for adventurous couples. Smaller permit (under 30). Sunrise + sunset both work. Bring sturdy shoes.

Taft Point (1.1-mile hike)

Dramatic 3,500-ft cliff drop with El Cap + Yosemite Valley below. Heart-stopping ceremony spot. Same hike + permit zone as Sentinel.

Tunnel View pull-out

Ansel Adams' iconic Valley View — ceremony or portrait spot before/after Glacier Point. 30-min drive from Glacier. Permit optional for under-12 groups.

When is Glacier Point open?+
Late May through October. The Glacier Point Road closes for winter. Mid-June to mid-September is peak access. October has fewer crowds + colder mornings — beautiful + quiet.
NPS permit?+
Yes — Yosemite NPS wedding permit. ~$300, file 2 to 4 months ahead. Standard rules: no rice/petals, limited guest count, no music amplification at viewpoints. We coordinate timing with golden hour.
Cost?+
AGV starts at $5,500 for Photo + Film for Yosemite weddings (under 30 guests). Multi-day with welcome dinner at the Ahwahnee + sunrise portrait + ceremony day is $7,500 to $9,500.
Best month?+
June, September, October. June has the most water in the falls. September has perfect weather + low crowds. October has gold leaves + cold air. Avoid July to August for crowds.

4 hours from SF, 6 from LA. We arrive day before for venue scout + golden-hour rehearsal at Glacier itself. Lodging — book the Ahwahnee or Yosemite Valley Lodge 12+ months ahead.
