Iconic spots

Where Eastern Sierra couples elope.

Convict Lake (Mammoth)

Granite peaks reflected in glacial water — one of the most photogenic elopement spots in CA. Permit-friendly. 30-minute drive south of Mammoth Lakes village.

Mono Lake (Lee Vining)

Otherworldly tufa-spire shoreline. South Tufa Reserve has a wedding permit pathway. Sunrise + sunset are both unbelievable. Best for 2-20 guest elopements.

Alabama Hills (Lone Pine)

Famously the backdrop for 400+ Westerns. Mt Whitney behind, granite arches around. BLM-managed, permit required for groups over 12. Iconic Mobius Arch ceremony spot.

Mammoth Lakes Basin (Twin Lakes, Lake George, Crystal Lake)

Alpine basin with multiple lake options. Twin Lakes Falls + Crystal Lake have ceremony-friendly meadows. Mid-June to early-October access.

McGee Creek + Rock Creek (Bishop)

Aspen-grove ceremony in October — gold leaves everywhere. Best small-elopement window of the year. 20-mile drive south of Mammoth.

Bishop + The Pines / Hot Creek

Hot Creek Geological Site at sunrise — steam off the water + Sierra peaks. Bishop has lodging + town for the welcome night.

FAQ

Most-asked.

What's the best month?+
June, July, August, September. Mid-June Mammoth lakes are still ice-melt — schedule for late-June+ to be safe. October has aspen gold but snow risk after Oct 15. Skip Nov-May (closed roads, snow).
Permits?+
Mono Lake South Tufa: permit required, ~$200, file 4 to 6 weeks ahead. Alabama Hills BLM: permit for groups over 12. Mammoth Lakes basin: free for under-25 groups, otherwise USFS permit. We coordinate timing — your planner files the paper.
Cost?+
AGV starts at $4,500 for Photo + Film for adventure elopements (under 20 guests). Includes 6 hours coverage, ceremony + portraits + intimate dinner. Multi-day packages start at $6,500.
How many guests can come?+
Up to 20 typical. We've done 50-guest Mammoth weddings — at that size, book a venue (Mammoth Lakes Foundation, Tom's Place Resort) instead of public-land permits.
Travel?+
6 hours from SF, 5 hours from LA. We arrive day before for full venue scout + golden-hour rehearsal.
